A Grateful Family of Five
In December of 2004, the Brenner family of five moved to Arizona from Eugene Oregon. Back in Oregon, daughters Christiana, Amanda and Jessica were actively involved in the public school system. However, with the move to Arizona, parents Jim and Christine made the decision to enroll their three daughters in private, Lutheran schools in the Phoenix area. Jim and Christine were looking forward to having their daughters experience a Christian education within smaller school settings.
The Brenner girls feel at home in their new schools. They love the smaller class sizes and Christian values and morals taught daily. They also appreciate their teachers who really know their strengths and weaknesses and challenge them to achieve higher personal standards.
Christiana, a junior at Arizona Lutheran Academy (ALA) in Phoenix, is actively involved in music and athletic programs. She is particularly gifted in voice and has been involved in many fine arts productions.
After high school, Christiana's goals are to pursue a major in Spanish and obtain a doctorate in psychology. She certainly personifies a typical Arizona Lutheran Academy student as she is able to be involved in so many different activities at the high school level. Even though Christiana knows the academics at ALA are challenging, she knows the hard work now will pay off later.
Amanda, currently a freshman at Arizona Lutheran Academy, is an avid athletic enthusiast. Amanda has played elite club soccer for years and is now enjoying the variety of high school athletics available to students within a small school setting. Jessica is a 7th grader at Grace Lutheran School in Glendale, AZ. She loves to read and is an outgoing and friendly student.
Both Jim and Christine are very appreciative of the scholarships their daughters have received from the H.E.L.P. Foundation. The Brenner family benefits from the fantastic school choice opportunities available to families in Arizona. They also understand and truly appreciate what the H.E.L.P. Foundation, through the private school tuition tax credit, has done for their daughters. The Arizona tuition tax credit program truly gives Arizona kids a choice!
